Five Daily Tools to Thrive in Motherhood

practical ideas thriving in motherhood Nov 19, 2024

We are all busy mummas (or mummas to be) and as rural women we wear SO MANY HATS on a daily basis, it can be exhausting and time consuming.

Here are my 5 most helpful daily tools to thrive through motherhood:

1. I meal plan every Sunday!

I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but I love it. I don’t always stick to it and its fairly loose ideas for some days but its a start and I at least have the mental load of that taken away for the other 6 days.

2. Have a washing system.

Urgh… so boring I know! But I wash on Wednesdays and the weekends and hang/iron uniforms or set clothes for the week on Sundays

3. I have a “school” station.

This is the place where backpacks, socks, shorts, jumpers and library books belong (right beside my hung uniforms lol). This system has adapted since we now do Distance Education but the concept is the same. All school items/things has its place and everything goes back to its place. I have baskets for each kid full of their socks because I don't know about you but man we are always looking for socks!

4. Start the day with something for you.

This is much more simple than you think. I start every day with a hot, strong cup of tea, ALWAYS! Feel free to steal this one, or I'd love to hear what works for you. Ps. It TOTALLY matters what cup you drink your tea from.

5. I label my containers.

Any containers with with left overs get labelled with a chalk pen (see meal planner step one) so I know what needs to be eaten first and when NOT to eat something, so I’m not having to think too hard about when I cooked it and if its safe to feed the family or not.

6. Bonus tip

I pack lunch boxes the night before. I even pack lunch boxes on school holidays if we have a busy day planned so when someone is hungry (because “I’m hungry” is toddlers and kids favourite saying, followed closely with “will you play with me”) its there ready to go!

Occasionally, everyone needs a few ideas about navigating motherhood and running a household. These are my must-haves when it comes to managing life.

Please share your daily tip to help other Mums stay organised and thriving in the comments below.πŸ‘‡
